Everyone from bloggers to national radio hosts claim the Titans are just continuing the NFL efforts to blackball Kaepernick for his role in starting the national anthem protests last year. They claim that Kaepernick is clearly a top 60 70 quarterback and should be on a NFL roster somewhere, and given Tennessee current situation and the way the offense has been built around the similarly mobile Mariota, say the Titans would be the perfect fit.
Natsuki (pictured above): “As a Texan’s Cheerleader, I watch my diet really carefully during the season. I’m usually pretty healthy anyway, but during the season it’s more important to be at my best. Extraordinarily, this sandpit machismo is celebrated. In fact, we’ve reached a point where you can nakedly assault your man 80 metres from the ball and win plaudits, but if you don’t return the ball in centimetre perfect fashion, it’s 50 metres, 50 more if you protest. A crackdown, a la jumper punches, is in order. Two early free kicks would do it. Soft? Only if you think off the ball attack by the unprovoked on the unaware is hard. It’s not, and never was. And if you think it is intrinsic to the game’s theatre, then you are admitting that alone it is not much of a game.

Young quarterbacks took solid first steps toward fulfilling significant promise in Week 1. Carson Wentz of the Philadelphia Eagles had a handful of brilliant moments but a couple throws he might want back, including a pick six, as Philadelphia scored a big win over Washington. Marcus Mariota was efficient and scored a rushing touchdown against a tough Oakland defense. Derek Carr led the Raiders to a win with savvy plays late.

From the outside looking in, this seems like a hasty and needless move that mortgages their future. After not having more than 5 wins every year since 2002, and reaching 8 8 last season, that future was now. They are not going to have much of a draft next year unless they trade some players for picks, but they will probably get a couple of compensation picks for lost free agents Namdi Asomugha and Robert Gallery. Those picks come after the 3rd round, and then they will have two more picks in the fifth and sixth rounds.
Perhaps NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will run up the famous steps before announcing the No. 1 pick.
